OFTP2 Sender Connector

The OFTP2 Sender Connector allows sending files to OFTP2 partners using the ODETTE File Transfer Protocol 2.

Service Description

The OFTP2 Sender Connector enables secure file transmission to OFTP2 partners. It handles connection establishment, file encoding, encryption, and delivery confirmation according to the OFTP2 protocol specifications.

Required Connector Properties

  • OFTP2 Connection Name: The name of the pre-configured OFTP2 connection to use
  • Host: The hostname or IP address of the OFTP2 server
  • Port: The port number for OFTP2 communication (default: 3305 for OFTP2)
  • File Name: The name of the file to be sent
  • Encoding: Character encoding for the file content (e.g., UTF-8, ISO-8859-1)
  • File Description: Optional description or metadata for the transferred file

Configuration Details

OFTP2 Connection

The OFTP2 connection must be pre-configured in the Operations section with:

  • Connection credentials: Username and password or certificate-based authentication
  • Security settings: Encryption and signing preferences
  • Partner information: Partner ID and capabilities
  • Network settings: Timeout and retry configurations

File Transfer Settings

  • File Name: Specify the destination file name on the OFTP2 partner's system
  • Encoding: Select appropriate character encoding based on partner requirements
  • File Description: Add metadata to help identify the file purpose

Security Options

OFTP2 supports various security features:

  • Encryption: Encrypt file content during transmission
  • Digital Signatures: Sign files for authenticity verification
  • Secure Authentication: Certificate-based or password authentication
  • Compression: Optional file compression before transfer

Message Flow

  1. Message arrives at the OFTP2 Sender connector
  2. Connector retrieves OFTP2 connection configuration
  3. Establishes connection with OFTP2 partner
  4. Encodes file content according to specified encoding
  5. Transfers file with metadata
  6. Receives delivery acknowledgment (EERP)
  7. Closes connection or maintains for next transfer

Best Practices

  1. Pre-configure Connections: Set up OFTP2 connections in Operations before using the connector
  2. Use Appropriate Encoding: Match encoding with partner requirements
  3. Add File Descriptions: Include meaningful descriptions for file tracking
  4. Monitor Acknowledgments: Track EERP responses to ensure successful delivery
  5. Handle Errors: Implement error handling for connection failures
  6. Test Connections: Verify OFTP2 connections before production use
Usage

Use the OFTP2 Sender Connector when you need to send files to automotive industry partners or any organization using the OFTP2 protocol. It's particularly useful for EDI documents, production data, and quality reports in B2B scenarios.

Error Handling

Common errors and solutions:

  • Connection Failed: Verify host, port, and network connectivity
  • Authentication Error: Check OFTP2 connection credentials
  • Encoding Error: Ensure encoding matches file content and partner requirements
  • Transfer Timeout: Adjust timeout settings in OFTP2 connection configuration
  • Partner Not Available: Verify partner system is online and accepting connections
