RFC Destinations

RFC destinations contain connection information defined on SAP NetWeaver Application Server and required for remote function calls to different systems or servers. RFC Destinations are used during RFC (Remote Function Call) connections configured to communicate with the SAP system. To employ the designated RFC destination name, just input it into the 'RFC Destination' field within the SAP RFC Receiver connector when configuring the integration setup.

FieldDescription
NameRFC Destination Name
Application ServerDetermines which application server on the targeted system RFC calls will be directed to. An application server is a software component positioned to perform a specific operation on the target system.
ClientDetermines the client context in which RFC calls will be made. Each customer contains different data and settings for the execution of a specific transaction in the SAP system.
System NumberDetermines which SAP system number in the target system RFC calls will be directed to. This number is a unique identifier of the SAP system running on the target system.
UserRFC user refers to the user ID (username) that is used for establishing RFC connections. This user typically needs to be created in the SAP system with appropriate authorizations to execute the required RFC-enabled function modules or programs.
PasswordThis is the corresponding password for the RFC user mentioned above. It's crucial to keep this password secure, as it provides access to the SAP system.
LanguageLanguage refers to the language in which the RFC user session will be conducted. SAP systems support multiple languages, and the language setting determines the language of the user interface and messages returned by the system.
Peak LimitThis refers to the maximum number of RFC sessions or connections that can be active simultaneously in the SAP system. It's a configuration parameter set to ensure system stability and performance.
Pool CapacityIn SAP, RFC connections can be made through connection pools, which are sets of pre-established connections that can be reused by different client applications. Pool capacity refers to the maximum number of connections that can be held in the pool at any given time.
SAP RouterSAP Router is a program that acts as an intermediary between SAP systems and external networks, providing an additional layer of security and control for communication between SAP systems and external systems over the internet. SAP Router definitions typically include configuration parameters such as access control lists (ACLs), port assignments, and routing rules that define how incoming and outgoing connections are handled by the SAP Router.
Using

Defined RFC Destination can use with SAP RFC Connector.

Clicking the three dots under the "Action" heading offers the following options:

  • Edit Destination: Allows changing the details of the RFC Destination.
  • Delete Destination: Allows the removal of RFC Destination.
